        Latest Updates of Social Work Centre – Bidar (Carmel Seva Trust)

1. Concept Training May – June 2023: Carmel Seva Trust staff conducted Concept Training for 43 SHGs in 9 villages. They highlighted the importance of SHGs and to conduct every meeting systematically. Its focus is not only on savings but also the personal growth of individual, family as well as society.

2. Environment Day: June 5^th Environment day was celebrated in 6 villages by planting saplings by the SHG members. Saplings are also distributed to them.

3. Medical camp at Gunalli 18^th June 2023: Carmel Seva Trust organized general medical camp with the collaboration of Prisha Clinic Bidar at Gunalli village. 75 patients made use of this camp.

4. Gruha Laksmi Scheme June 19, 2023: Together with the India Post Payment Bank, Carmel Seva Trust has enrolled the names of 200 women from our working villages under the Gruha Laksmi Scheme.

5. Visit of APPI Personnel to CST: June 23, 2023 Sir Shiv Kumar and Sir Manohar, the APPI personnel, visited Carmel Seva Trust Organization to discuss project proposals.

6. Training on Agriculture June 28, 2023 : In collaboration with Krishi Vijyana Kendra at Janawada, Carmel Seva Trust conducted a training program for SHG women on agriculture, vermi compost pits, and ajola crops at Krishi Vijyana Kendra.

7. Inauguration of Tuition Centers : Carmel Seva Trust established tuition centers in five working villages for children so that they can be successful in academics and receive a value-based education.

8. Inauguration of Tailoring course at District Prison, Bidar 18 July 2023 : Carmel Seva Trust inaugurated skill training for women inmates at district prison at Bidar.

9. Awareness on Anti Human Trafficking for SHG women 20^th July 2023 : There was an awareness program on anti-human trafficking for 55 women in Rasoolabad and Jamgi colony.

10. Essay Competition on Indian Constitution Preamble, August 1, 2023: An essay competition was conducted by the Carmel Seva Trust for fifteen high schools on the Indian Constitution's Preamble. 150 students participated in it.

11. Cancer screening camp at Markhal 26 August, 2023: Carmel Seva Trust organized Cancer screening camp with the collaboration of India Cancer Society, Gulbarga at Gunalli village. 75 patients made use of this camp.

12. Skill Training 24 September 2023: Sir Shivaraj and Amar trained 25 women on tailoring machines.

13. Senior Citizen Day 21 August 2023: World Senior Citizen Day was observed to honour the efforts and contribution made by the senior citizens.

14. Sponsorship Program 31 August 2023 : The Director and Staff of Caritas Prague of Czech Republic visited the centre to learn the welfare of the Sponsor children.

15. Street Play on Constituion 3 September 2023: District Kannada Sahithya Parishad had organized Prathibha Purashaka programme on 5^th September 2023. On this occasion a street play was put up by the Carmel Seva Trust staff on Constitution.

16. Teacher’s Day Celebration 5 September 2023: Teacher’s Day was celebrated to honour teachers for their accomplishments, efforts and contribution in their working field.

17. Girls Child Day 8 September 2023: Girl child day was observed in order to create awareness about the rights of a girl child and to remove gender- based biases.

18. Workshop on Accounts book writing 21&23 September 2023: Two days workshop conducted for the 43 secretaries of the SHG’s at Carmel Seva Trust by Mrs. Rajeshwari.

19. Blood Donation 1 October 2023: Blood donation camp was organized by the CST in order to save a life.

20. Awareness on Health and Hygiene for the adolescents : Health and Hygiene awareness programme was conducted to maintain good health and to develop healthy immune system.

21. Income Generating Programme: Women of Self Help Groups get involved in income generating activities such as animal husbandry.
